What is Hypnosis?
*Hypnosis is a trance state in which the conscious,
wakeful mind relaxes and leaves the subconscious open to suggestions for improvement and change, and allowing people to overcome obstacles in their
a relaxed and pleasant state of mind that
most people feel as a refreshing and energizing experience, while opening themselves
up to new and exciting ways of living and seeing the world around them.
*Hypnosis is used in many ways, including helping people
ease stress and anxiety, stop smoking, lose weight, improve performance at work

*Hypnosis is achievable by almost everyone. People of

What is Not Hypnosis?
*Hypnosis is not mind control. A hypnotist cannot control someone. They cannot “make” a client do anything they do not wish to
do. The client is always in control and can always awaken from hypnosis at any
time they desire.
*Hypnosis is not
a sleep state. Clients are fully awake
and fully aware of what is taking place. They are simply in a state of deep relaxation and are willing to focus their
attention on the suggestions made by the hypnotherapist. No one can be stuck in
*Hypnosis is not, contrary to popular belief, just about making people seem silly
and do potentially embarrassing things. Yes, there are some very talented stage
hypnotists out there -- and willing audience members – that do that for entertainment sake. But, remember, a hypnotist cannot make you do anything you don’t want to do.
*Hypnosis is not for people on
certain medications, babies and very young children, people who have a mental
illness or who are intoxicated or high on drugs, and people who are simply
unwilling to be hypnotized.
